Jack Anthony – College of Mount Saint Vincent Mount Bridges Program (Solferino Family Scholarship Award)
2021
Jack is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Solferino Family Scholarship Award. He will be attending the Mount Bridges Program at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the fall, where he hopes to take courses in music technology. He loves music as well as dancing, singing and acting. He is also athletic. In addition to being a skier and a swimmer, he was a member of his high school’s Special Olympics Unified Basketball team as well as manager of the Varsity Baseball team.
Jack has completed a two-year food prep program at a local culinary school, and he loves helping others. During the pandemic, he and his brother started Baked Goods for Frontline Heroes, to thank healthcare workers for their hard work. This two-person community service project grew to 30 high-school student volunteers baking all kinds of treats, five days a week, for two hospitals and a pop-up Covid test clinic! Jack’s high school recognized his commitment to others with a community service award for his extensive volunteer work.
An avid dancer and dance student, Jack has also volunteered his time in helping to lead a dance class for young children. His dance instructor describes Jack as kind, creative, capable and a gifted dancer. These qualities will help you go far in college and in life, Jack! We believe in you—you rock!
