Grace Arnold – University of Colorado–Colorado Springs (Clurman Family Scholarship Award)

Grace is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Clurman Family Scholarship Award. This fall, she begins her second year at the University of Colorado–Colorado Springs, where she is taking courses and working toward a Certificate in Nutrition and Education, as steps toward her goal of working in a zoo someday.

After volunteering last year in the Nutrition Center at the Denver Zoo, this year, Grace has been doing “year of the zoo”—traveling with her mother to zoos around the country, and meeting with zoo staff to talk about nutrition for animals. She is also a Harry Potter fan, and considers herself a Ravenclaw. She loves music and cooking, and enjoys cooking ramen, pizza or pasta for herself in her apartment.

Her mentors and professors describe Grace as enthusiastic, dedicated and “a light in a dark world.” We see these amazing qualities in you, Grace! You rock—we believe in you!
