Quincy Bane – National Louis University PACE Program (Team Hazelnut Scholarship Award)

Quincy is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Team Hazelnut Scholarship Award recipient. She is a first-year student in the PACE program at National Louis University, and enjoys getting to school independently every day. She loves her classes, and also loves being a member of the dance, tai chi and movie clubs. Her goal is either to become a dance teacher someday or to have a job helping children.

Quincy is an active self-advocate. For World Down Syndrome Day last year, she interviewed several people with Trisomy-21 on behalf of GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago, “so people can get to know people with Down syndrome.” Her teachers and mentors describe her as someone with a strong work ethic who is enthusiastic about learning. About herself, Quincy says, “I love school. I am proud of myself.” We’re proud of you, too, Quincy! We think you rock!
