Ashley W. – University of North Carolina–Greensboro (Henry Hope Holmes Scholarship Award)

Ashley is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Henry Hope Holmes Scholarship Award recipient. She attends the University of North Carolina–Greensboro, and is on track to graduate with her Bachelor’s degree by May 2021. In high school, she was in the National Honor Society as well as the National Technical Honor Society, and played drums and marimba in the high school band. She has volunteered at her local animal shelter for the past decade, loves watching scary movies, and has traveled all over the world with her family. She says, “I love to travel and see new things and try to live life as an adventure every day.”

Though she graduated high school with honors, schoolwork has always been difficult for Ashley, and she has even failed some classes. She also counts perseverance among her personal strengths, and she never gives up. We believe in you, Ashley, and we recognize your hard work and incredible perseverance! We are so proud of you!
