Anna Moates – Auburn University EAGLES Program

Anna is a three-time Rockin’ Recipient and a junior in the EAGLES program at Auburn University, where she is working toward her goal of having a career in the performing arts. She is an Auburn Singer, like her older sisters were before her, as well as a member of the Diamond Dolls, and says she chose to pursue singing “because it’s really fun and I love music, and it’s in my blood.” She was also selected as a Student Ambassador for the College of Education.

Her professors at Auburn report that Anna “thrives in a higher education setting” and “demonstrates a tremendous amount of independence.” About herself, Anna reports that she used to be shy, but since starting college at Auburn, “I have been coming out of my shell and meaningful and deep friendships.” To other students with Down syndrome, Anna offers this advice: “Do not give up on your dreams of going to college or any other dreams that you have. If you do your very best that is all you can do, and of course believe in yourself!” Keep on rockin’ it at Auburn, Anna! We believe in you!
