Mary is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient who was awarded her first Ruby’s Rainbow scholarship in 2017. She is entering her sophomore year in the EMPOWER program at the University of Arkansas, where she is studying communications.
An avid swimmer, Mary is a member of the U of A Swim Club as well as the Dare2Dance Team and the Young Life Club. She was designated Self-Advocate of the Year by the National Down Syndrome Society in 2018, and competed in Special Olympics swimming at the national level. She has also been invited to speak to several groups about the EMPOWER program and about her life.
In her scholarship application, Mary wrote, “I am learning so much at University of Arkansas. I love that people support me and believe in me so much!” We believe in you, Mary! Keep on rockin’ it at the U of A!
