Project Description

Practice navigating a new city was new to me and outside my comfort zone, but I did it and that made me feel brave.” — Isabelle Woloson

Isabelle, also known as “Izze”, is enrolled as a student at the University of Northern Colorado. In high school, Izze was on the honor roll seven semesters, won a swimming award, won the YMCA value award and was the Special Olympics state champion in the breast stroke. Izze once flew to Boston by herself as a representative to attend the Girls Leadership Institute conference for a meeting with other Student Councils throughout the United States (which is the trip referenced in the above quote). She volunteers with the YMCA as a counselor in training, and was a sculpture instructor. Interesting trivia, if you’ve ever had an Izze Sparkling Fruit Juice, the Izze name is named after her as her father invented the Izze sparking fruit juice drink before it was sold to PepsiCo. That may explain why she describes her hobbies as “sports and eating raspberries”.
