Colleen is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Indy Llew Scholarship Award and a student in the RISE program at Judson University. After graduating from high school in 2021, she held internships in a Head Start program and at a public preschool while studying for and passing her paraprofessional exam.
In high school, Colleen was on the bowling and cheerleading teams, and worked at a fast-food restaurant and a park district playground program. She loves performing on stage in community theatre. She also enjoys public speaking about her life experience as an individual with Down syndrome. After college, she hopes to work at the same preschool where she began her educational journey so many years ago.
