Joanna is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Dr. Yu and Associates Scholarship Award. This fall, she begins her third year in the Career & Community Studies program at Portland State University. She loves attending college and talking with her professors, advisors and academic coaches. In her downtime, she loves swimming; she has even won gold, silver and bronze medals in the 50-meter breast stroke at Special Olympics.
Joanna is also an accomplished pianist, and loves to play hymns. She loves reading the Bible and attending virtual church activities. She also loves watching America’s Got Talent, CNN News and NBA videos on YouTube. Her favorite NBA player is Kobe Bryant.
