Taryn is one of Ruby’s Rainbow’s first three-time Rockin’ Recipients! She was awarded her first Ruby’s Rainbow scholarship in 2015 and her second in 2017. She is set to begin her senior year this fall in the Beyond Academics program at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro.
Taryn volunteers at the Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro, and hopes to have a paid position there after graduation from UNCG. She loves living independently, and credits her time at UNCG with teaching her the skills needed to do so. She has also recently realized her goal of learning how to cook and bake.
Taryn has served as a Rockin’ Ambassador for Ruby’s Rainbow, spreading the word about what our organization is all about.
In her scholarship application, Taryn wrote, “I love being on my own and learning new things.” That’s amazing and inspiring, Taryn! Keep on rockin’ it all the way to graduation!
