So Inspired by 2018 Rockin’ Recipient Paulette Guest!!

Meet Paulette. Her story is so inspiring to me because it’s proof we are all life long learners and deserve the chance to continue to grow, change and stretch for your dreams even if it may seem out of reach. Paulette turned 50 earlier this year and is set to begin her final year at Jefferson Community and Technical College in Kentucky.
She says, “Since I am 50, I’ve seen and been through a lot. One of my dreams has always been to go to college, but it looked like it wouldn’t happen. There are lots of things I dream about that haven’t happened for me.” Her mom passed away in 2016 but always told her “Paulette, you can do it.”
Going to college has been the fulfillment of a dream, a dream that may not have been possible without financial help. She says it “makes me happy to tell people I am in college. It’s important to me because I like to learn new things. I’m achieving my goals and it feels good.” And although she “misses her mom so much” she knows she is “watching her from heaven” and no doubt SO PROUD!
She shared with us that “I treat every person with kindness and respect.” The world needs more people like you, Paulette! Keep on rockin’ it at JCTC!
