While concentrating his studies in Early Childhood Education, Michael attended classes through the College of Education and Allied Professions and interned at two Cullowhee-based child care facilities.

Currently, Michael is employed, forty hours per week, as a Teacher’s Assistant, at an Atlanta-area day care center. Michael is continuing his professional education by studying for the state of GA Child Development Associate (CDA) certification, requiring 120 hours of in-class training and 480 hours of professional experience.

In 2015, Michael moved into a condo unit near his employment, so that he can walk to work. Michael has a roommate to share expenses and social activities, while enjoying the independence and responsibilities that come with living away from home.

Michael also has a passion for advocating for individuals with intellectual disabilities, and has been a presenter, speaker and panelist for many conferences and schools locally and across the country. We are so proud of you Michael!! Keep on rockin’ it and making a difference in this world!!
