She is officially a Florida state-certified esthetician, scoring an 87 on her state bar exam!!

Since graduation, she started working at Pensacola State College in the same cosmetology school as a teacher’s assistant and is loving being able to help others grow and learn as she did in the program.

The cosmetology studio is a fitting second home for Northup. She is a self-described girlie girl, who first learned about the art of applying makeup as a second-grader. Dancing and makeup consumed her as a child and at age 30 that remains the case. She says a career in dancing is actually her No. 1 dream, followed by being a makeup artist.

One of her teachers, Mrs. Sonya said, “Her passion is contagious and her smile is breath taking! She inspires me to be a better person daily! I have been so blessed to watch her grow and accomplish her dream of being the first young lady with Down syndrome to become a registered Facial Specialist in the state of Florida.”

Next up for Cameron is to continue broadening her skills and education. She is planning on taking the program at PSC to become a massage therapist. No doubt she will rock this too!!

I might just have to pit stop in Pensacola to get a facial from Cameron next time I am in Florida!!

Keep on rockin’ it Cameron!!
