2018 Rockin’ Recipient Kari Balazs in the AL National American Miss Pageant!!

I love learning about all of our new recipients. Their determination and drive is something I see in my own daughter every day and it brings my heart so much joy and hope to see what they are accomplishing. This is Kari, and she is attending Judson this fall. This post from her mom just leaves me with all the feels:
“This young woman. She hates public speaking because she sometimes stutters. YET, she chose to compete in the spokes-model competition at the AL National American Miss pageant this weekend. She spoke from the heart about Down syndrome. She spoke clearly, slowly and smiled at the judges and the audience. She did everything right and I was so proud to be witness to this. The judges for that competition apparently agreed and she walked away with the first prize win as AL NAM Teen Spokesmodel 2018. She will be competing at the National NAM’s in Hollywood, CA this Thanksgiving!”
