Jordyn M. Hubert
2026
Jordyn Marie Hubert is from Granville, Ohio, and is passionate about her faith, education, independence, advocacy, and helping others recognize their God-given gifts.
Jordyn earned an Early Childhood Education certificate from Columbus State Community College and completed her first year at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where she lived on campus, completed two internships, and participated in intramural basketball. She plans to continue her education toward an associate degree with the goal of becoming an early childhood instructor. Jordyn has worked at Noah’s Ark East Daycare for five years and continues working there during school breaks.
Advocacy has become an important part of Jordyn’s life. Through the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), she traveled to Washington, D.C., where she advocated for full funding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and shared her story with members of the Ohio Congressional delegation. Jordyn spoke about how education and opportunities have helped her gain confidence, independence, and prepare for her future.
Jordyn has also become a confident public speaker and advocate. In February 2026, she was invited to speak at the annual BuddyUp Gala in Columbus, Ohio. The theme of the Gala was “UnMasking Potential,” and Jordyn spoke to approximately 500 guests about “UnMasking Courage.” She shared her personal journey, her faith, and the courage it has taken to pursue her dreams and become more independent.
In March 2026, Jordyn was invited to be the guest speaker at the Wonderful Works Ministry Gala. She shared a powerful message about the importance of giving everyone a voice and an opportunity to use their God-given gifts to bless others. She has since been invited to participate in Wonderful Works Ministry’s upcoming video devotional series, “What Does the Bible Teach Us about Disability,” which will feature adults with disabilities sharing their voices and perspectives.
Jordyn is also an active leader in her community. She has served as President of the PAWS Pet Club in Licking County, serves as a Director on the board of ElevateDD.org, participates in Special Olympics, and volunteers in her church nursery.
When she is not working, studying, volunteering, or advocating, Jordyn loves sports. She proudly considers herself Ohio State University’s number one football fan and is also a big fan of UConn women’s basketball.
Jordyn is honored and grateful to be a recipient of a Ruby’s Rainbow Scholarship. This scholarship will help her continue her education, grow in independence, and pursue her dream of teaching.
Jordyn hopes that by sharing her story and using her voice, she can encourage others with disabilities to recognize their gifts, pursue their dreams, and know that they have something important to contribute to the world.
