Evan Messina: Southeastern University (Go Nash Go Scholarship Award)

Evan Messina is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s recipient of the Go Nash Go Scholarship Award. Evan is entering his second year at Southeastern University working toward his Bachelor’s in Communication: Sports Media. Evan is proud to be living independently in a dorm with a roommate and successfully completed his freshman year strong!

This summer, Evan is gaining real-world experience as a social media intern for the Down Syndrome Foundation of Florida, where he films, edits, and creates content highlighting the Foundation’s programs and activities.

A Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, Evan also loves marching band (he plays clarinet and bass clarinet), watching college and pro football and basketball, and advocating for others. He shares his story through self-advocacy presentations with medical and dental students via The Arc, and gives back to his church by volunteering in media tech and providing ASL interpretation during worship arts.

Evan is passionate about being an active contributor to the SEU community and is working hard toward graduating with his Bachelor’s degree.
