Dashiell Meier: Foothill College (Cassidy & the Power with Grace Scholarship Award)

Dashiell Meier is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and a proud student at Foothill College, where he is entering his third year and second year of his degree program in media studies. He is passionate about filmmaking and storytelling and dreams of working for Pixar one day
Dashiell won the 2025 Easterseals Disability Film Challenge Best Actor Award for a short film he directed called Day 21. He also created This Is Me, a short animated documentary that is currently screening at film festivals, and he’s begun working on a documentary about the history of Down syndrome. This summer, he is serving as a Docs In Progress Fellow.
In addition to filmmaking, Dashiell loves public speaking and is involved in advocacy work. He was honored as the NDSS Ambassador of the Year in 2025 and continues to collaborate with disability rights organizations. He’s working hard on his independent living skills and looks forward to having his own apartment in the future.
When he’s not creating films or advocating, Dashiell enjoys drawing, hanging out with friends, and playing soccer.
