Ann Marie Schoenberger: Lakeland University

Ann Marie Schoenberger is this year’s recipient of a Ruby’s Rainbow Scholarship Award! This fall, she will begin her freshman year at Lakeland University, where she plans to study education. Ann Marie has a big heart for children and hopes to work in a daycare setting after graduation.

Ann Marie is proud to have earned two varsity letters in high school sports and continues to stay active through Special Olympics, where she competes in swimming and powerlifting. Swimming has always been one of her greatest passions, and she plans to keep it in her life for years to come. She also loves gymnastics. Through Special Olympics, she has built strong friendships and a deep sense of community.

She grew up on a farm and loves being around animals, especially dogs. Ann Marie is outgoing, full of energy, and absolutely loves being around kids. Her favorite way to unwind is by coloring, which helps her relax after a busy day.

Coming from a small community, Ann Marie believes her greatest contribution has been helping bring out the best in others. Whether in sports, school, or church, she inspires those around her with her positive spirit and determination. One of her proudest moments was becoming an altar server at church, a goal she set for herself and proudly achieved.
