Raquel Caramello: University of South Florida – UMatter

Raquel is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Ginny Trawick Scholarship Award. This fall, she begins her freshman year in the UMatter program at the University of South Florida, where she plans to study hospitality management. Her future plans include living independently and continuing as CEO of her own business, Raquel Beautiful, which she founded to inspire people to value others and themselves.

In her free time, Raquel enjoys cheerleading, dance and equestrian activities. Along with being CEO of Raquel Beautiful, she is also an award-winning community volunteer and philanthropist. She is learning to drive a car and already has her learner’s permit. She is also a Special Olympics athlete, serves on a leadership council, and is on the Board of Directors for a local nonprofit organization called 21 and Change.
