Hope Taylor: Longwood University – Longwood LIFE
2024
Hope is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Zachary Boswinkel Magrum Scholarship Award. This fall, she begins her first year in the two-year Longwood LIFE program at Longwood University, where she will be studying her two favorite subjects—math and reading. Since she is learning to play the ukulele, she is also looking forward to Longwood’s music program. She is excited to live independently with roommates or her besties someday. After graduation, she would like to have her own flower or ice cream business.
Hope recently completed an inclusive two-year program called Greenhouse Management, which complemented her school day. She thrives in the greenhouse and was invited to be a Leader in this inclusive program during her second year. She is proud to have graduated as a Leader and to have served as the first officer with special needs in the Circle of Friends Club, where she served as Vice President.
Hope is over the moon to be a Ruby’s Rainbow Rockin’ Recipient. She has said many times, “I love my new life!” She is looking forward to all the new experiences that college will offer, including hanging out with friends at D-Hall and learning to commute independently to kickboxing class.
We believe in you, Hope! You rock!
