Evan Messina: Southeastern University

Evan is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Poppy Miller Scholarship Award. This fall, he begins his freshman year at Southeastern University, where he will be pursuing his Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Sports Media. He plans to work in the field of sports media someday.

Evan is a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. In his free time, he loves watching college and pro football and basketball games, and playing the clarinet and bass clarinet in band/orchestra. He enjoys sharing with others about his life, and is a self-advocate presenter to medical and dental students through a program with The Arc. He loves to volunteer with his church by providing ASL interpretation during worship arts and helping with media tech during service.
