Emma Wright: Western Carolina University – UP

Emma is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Dawn Ridgway Memorial Scholarship Award. This fall, she begins her first year in the two-year UP (University Participant) program at Western Carolina University, where she plans to study hospitality, entrepreneurship or food service. Someday she would like to work in or own an ice cream shop or bakery. She also wants to have a pet cat someday.

In her free time, Emma enjoys singing karaoke, dancing, art, painting, and watching American Ninja Warrior and Dude Perfect. She also loves playing putt-putt and driving the cart on the golf course. She is full of joy and genuinely cares about people. She loves being the life of the party, and if given the chance, will be found center stage with a microphone in hand. She is adventurous, has a great imagination, and enjoys discovering her independence. In high school, her classmates elected her to be homecoming queen. She is very excited to start classes at WCU!
