Dashiell Meier: University of Silicon Valley

Dashiell is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Cassidy and Stop, Drop and Dance Scholarship Award. This fall, he begins his freshman year at the University of Silicon Valley, where he plans to study animation. His goals are to work for Pixar and start his own filmmaking company someday.

Dashiell is a storyteller, filmmaker, athlete, disability rights advocate and public speaker who has spoken before the United Nations about health equity. He loves to meet and interview all kinds of people and has a YouTube talk show called Playing Favorites. He is in the process of launching a new series about Trisomy-21 called That Something Extra. Dashiell plays soccer and is on the first US National Down Syndrome Futsal team. In his spare time, he enjoys drawing and writing stories.
