Trista Peterson – University of Central Missouri THRIVE Program (Huddy Buddy Scholarship Award)

Trista is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Huddy Buddy Scholarship Award. This fall she begins her freshman year in the THRIVE Program at the University of Central Missouri, where she plans to study to be a veterinarian’s assistant. After she graduates, she plans to live on her own and work in a veterinary clinic, so she can help take care of animals.
Trista loves to stay busy. She was active in high school sports and Special Olympics. She is very proud to have received the 2022 Kansas State High School Athletic Association’s Spirit of Sport Award. She was active in many clubs in high school, loves listening to music, and truly loves being around others.
Trista has a very caring personality. When things get tough, her words of wisdom are to “have confidence in myself!”
