Emily Weiss – Clemson University ClemsonLIFE (Greg Cummings Scholarship Award)

Emily is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Greg Cummings Scholarship Award. This fall she begins her freshman year in the ClemsonLIFE program at Clemson University, where she plans to study General Studies and independent living. After she graduates, she hopes to have a job in a restaurant or school to help others, and she hopes to live on her own with roommates.

Emily’s hobbies include dance, puzzles and listening to music. She is a hard worker and is very proud to have been named Student of the Month three times in the past school year. She has had a longtime goal to attend college just like her older brother did, and like her younger sister will do next fall. She is very involved in school, church, and community activities. She especially loves volunteering at her high school with students in the Functional Life Skills Program, doing activities and eating lunch with these students, and just being their friend. She has been a great support to the FLSP teachers.
