Brooke Widmer – The Ohio State University TOPS (Nora Fadley Scholarship Award)
2023
Brooke is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Nora Fadley Scholarship Award. This fall she begins her sophomore year in the TOPS program at The Ohio State University, where she is studying to become either a Physical Therapy assistant or a lab assistant. Her post-graduation goals include living independently and finding employment she enjoys.
In high school, Brooke was prom queen her senior year and was also on the cheer team, both as mascot and cheering in uniform with the team. She has been athletic her whole life, learning how to snow ski at age three and wakeboard at five. She has done CrossFit for more than five years. Her current hobbies include snow skiing, wakeboarding, CrossFit and surfing, as well as spending time with friends and her beloved dogs, Molly and Barley. She is very proud to have lived on her own on campus at OU in a dorm during her freshman year.
Sounds like you are well on your way toward your goal of independent living, Brooke! We are so proud of you—we believe in you!
