Bridget M. Brown – University of Illinois at Chicago Co-Op (Lovrin Baxter Scholarship Award)
2023
Bridget is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Lovrin Baxter Scholarship Award. This fall she is excited to begin her second year in the Co-Op program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she is studying policy and advocacy, leadership, and radical inclusion. After graduation, she plans to have a career in a related field and be an advocate for inclusion.
Being in college is a dream come true for Bridget. This year she has an internship at the university nursing department, where she is one of the first standardized patient actors with a disability.
Outside of college, Bridget has many hobbies, including acting, public speaking, book clubs, ancestry study, camping, biking and travel. She is very proud to have been accepted into the Illinois LEND program, which helps to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals with disabilities and their families, and prepares individuals with disabilities to serve as leaders.
We are so proud of you and your many accomplishments, Bridget! Keep on rockin’ it at UIC!
