Claire Rose Pigeon – Washington State University ROAR (Mathew Strachan & Family Scholarship Award)

Claire is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Mathew Strachan & Family Scholarship Award. She is a sophomore in the ROAR program at Washington State University, where she is aiming to be the valedictorian when she graduates. She is already working on her speech!

Claire did not get into college the first time she applied, so her advice to other students with Down syndrome is “to try again and not give up. Believe in yourself and keep trying. I got in my second time and was so excited.”

She describes herself as a “strong woman who loves to dance, and I am very proud of myself for completing my freshman year at Washington State University.” We are so very proud of you too, Claire! We love watching you grow and flourish in college!
