William Fitzgerald – Winthrop University Think College (Linda’s Legacy Scholarship Award)

William is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Linda’s Legacy Scholarship Award. He attends the Think College program at Winthrop University, where he is taking courses to help him improve his public speaking skills. William is an Eagle Scout as well as a self-advocate, and he is the founder and CEO of William’s Community Support Programs, which hosts an annual charity event, William’s Walk, to help feed hungry neighbors at the holidays.

William enjoys playing the piano, reading, dancing, and making new friends. His goals include advocating on Capitol Hill for the disabled community. He also plans to continue his connection with Ruby’s Rainbow by someday sponsoring a scholarship to award to a worthy recipient who is “rockin’ that extra chromosome” just like he is. William, we are so lucky to have you as a forever member of the Ruby’s Rainbow family—you are definitely rockin’ that extra chromosome!
