Tessa Bailey – Macomb Community College (Arehart Family Scholarship Award)

Tessa is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Arehart Family Scholarship Award. She is very excited to begin her second year at Macomb Community College this fall. She is proud to have passed her Food Handler’s Serve Safe Certification with a 90%, and she hopes to own her own restaurant someday.

Tessa was active in marching band, student council and color guard throughout high school. She was a Girl Scout from kindergarten through her senior year, and marched in the Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade with her Girl Scouts troop for four years in a row. She was inducted into the International Thespian Society in high school and is proud to have earned her theater cords along with her diploma.

Her teachers and employer describe Tessa as inspiring, motivated, and “a ray of sunshine.” We see these qualities in you, Tessa! We believe in you—you rock!
