Madelyn Haag – Winthrop University Think College (Zoey Fierce Scholarship Award)

Madelyn is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Zoey Fierce Scholarship Award. She is excited and grateful to attend Winthrop University this fall, where she will be entering her second year in the Think College program. She can’t wait for new adventures and experiences.

Madelyn has been involved in Special Olympics since she was eight years old, and several times has made it all the way to the USA Games, representing South Carolina in swimming and stand-up paddle-boarding. She was on the varsity swim team in high school, as well as on the homecoming court for two years. She was also named Miss Amazing in 2019.

A naturally creative person, Madelyn wants to take painting and sewing courses, and she plans to continue volunteering with Special Olympics as long as she can. We think you rock, Madelyn!
