Katie Beck – Clemson University ClemsonLIFE

Katie is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient attending the ClemsonLIFE program at Clemson University. She is looking forward to her sophomore year and says, “I am loving college… Go Tigers!!!” She has been learning how to cook and shop for groceries at school, and has enjoyed playing kickball, soccer and basketball with friends, or going bowling, watching movies or heading to the dog park. She has also enjoyed being active in Best Buddies on campus.

Katie hopes to have a career in sports someday, possibly teaching or coaching. Her advice to other students with Down syndrome who are considering post-secondary education is, “Do your best. Keep trying even when it is hard. The more you practice, the better you get.” That is great advice, Katie! You rock—we believe in you!
