Anna Moates – Auburn University EAGLES
2021
Anna is a four-time Ruby’s Rainbow Rockin’ Recipient. After graduating in Summer 2020 from the EAGLES program at Auburn University—becoming the first person with Down syndrome to do so—she began the two-year EAGLES Advanced Program. She’s looking forward to being a senior this fall and living off campus. She is also looking forward to her third year of singing with the Auburn University Singers; both her sisters were AU Singers as well, and Anna loves music and being a part of the AU Singers family.
She also loves attending football games and women’s basketball games, and enjoys sharing her faith with other members of the Auburn Community Church. She volunteers at Storybook Farm, where children with disabilities come for equine therapy; Anna grooms horses as well as cleaning their stalls. One of her EAGLES Program advisors describes her as a strong advocate for individuals with disabilities and notes her positive attitude.
A proud Auburn Eagle, Anna says, “War Eagle Hey!” Her goal after graduation is to work in the hospitality industry. We believe in you, Anna! We know you’ll keep rockin’ it at Auburn all the way to graduation!
