Amanda Altemus – Clemson University ClemsonLIFE (Andrew Block Scholarship Award)

Amanda is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Andrew Block Scholarship Award. She is very excited to be heading to the ClemsonLIFE program at Clemson University this fall, and is looking forward to taking classes and experiencing internships that teach her more about different careers. She’s also looking forward to living on campus in a dorm, as well as getting to know new people and having fun.

In high school, Amanda was active in cheerleading and Special Olympics. She has also written and published a children’s book that she reads to children’s groups in her local community. Her goals are to have a job she loves someday, and to live in her own apartment in Florida. She would love to work at Disney! Amanda describes herself as a hardworking person: “I don’t give up. I keep trying.” That is an amazing quality that will serve you well in college and beyond, Amanda! You rock!
