Megan Caldwell – Kent State University Career and Community Studies Program (Lees Family Scholarship Award)
2020
Megan is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Lees Family Scholarship Award recipient. This fall she will begin her sophomore year in the Career and Community Studies program at Kent State University. Last year, she made the Dean’s List both semesters and scored a 4.0 GPA her second semester. She also attended every campus event she could fit into her busy academic schedule, and enjoyed volunteering for a food recovery program on campus. She joined four campus clubs and loved attending sporting events. She also continued singing in her church choir.
Megan’s teachers and mentors describe her as dedicated, self-determined and independent. For other students with Down syndrome, Megan has this advice: “Get out of your comfort zone and try new things.” We think that’s great advice! We are so proud of you, Megan – keep on rockin’ it at Kent State!
