Jakayla Penn – University of South Alabama PASSAGE USA (Davis Family Scholarship Award)

Jakayla is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Davis Family Scholarship Award recipient. She will be attending the PASSAGE USA program at the University of South Alabama this fall, where she plans to work toward her goal of working in a daycare and someday owning and running her own childcare facility. She also hopes to be a cheerleader in college. She was a cheerleader in high school, and was also active in Special Olympics track and field, gymnastics, basketball and bocce ball.

Jakayla is a self-advocate and is active in her local Down Syndrome Association. She loves being around people and making them laugh. She is grateful for the support of her family and community, and says they make sure she can do anything she sets her mind to. We believe in you, Jakayla! We are so proud of you!
