Hatte Kingston – Bethel University BUILD (Owen James Scholarship Award)

Hatte is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Owen James Scholarship Award recipient. She is excited to start up in the BUILD program at Bethel University this fall, and says, “Going to college is one of the dreams that I’ve had for my whole life.” In high school, her favorite class was Media Arts, and she loved taking photos and being the weathercaster for her school’s news program. She was also selected several times to be the SOAR student of the year – a distinction given to students for their academic or personal achievements. She is active in Special Olympics bowling and swimming, her favorite sport.

Hatte volunteers at a variety of organizations, including her local humane society and Salvation Army. She also works at Culvers, where her favorite job is handing out custard samples to customers. Her goal is to become a strong and independent woman. We think you already are, Hatte! We are so proud of you, and we know you’ll rock it at Bethel!
