Dorothea Malinowski – Syracuse University InclusiveU (Kate the Great and the Wiedefeld Family Scholarship Award)

Dorothea is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Kate the Great and the Wiedefeld Family Scholarship Award recipient. She will be attending InclusiveU at Syracuse University this fall, where she plans to work on developing independent life skills. For the past two years, she has been auditing psychology courses at LeMoyne College, which she enjoyed both for the education and for the friendships she developed there.

Thea, as her friends and family call her, enjoys riding and working with horses, singing and doing karaoke with friends, and performing in front of live audiences with Front Row Players, a theatre group for actors of all abilities. Her teachers and mentors describe her as determined and someone who “digs deep, learns, grows and accomplishes what she set out to do.” We see these qualities in you too, Thea – we are so proud of you!
