Darbi Brumbaugh – Ivy Tech Community College

Darbi is a three-time Rockin’ Recipient attending Ivy Tech Community College, where she is working toward her certificate in Early Childhood Education. She works hard in her English comp, reading and early childhood education classes, maintaining a 3.25 GPA overall (and a 4.0 GPA in her Spring 2020 semester). She also volunteers with her local Down syndrome association. In 2017, she served as the association’s Grand Marshal for their annual Buddy Walk, and gave a speech during opening ceremonies.

Darbi’s goal is to work with young children in an early childhood setting. Her college mentors describe her as resilient, positive and humble. Darbi shared that receiving her first Ruby’s Rainbow scholarship gave her the confidence to believe she could succeed in college.
