Dalton Cron – Clemson University ClemsonLIFE Advanced Program
2020
Dalton is a four-time Rockin’ Recipient who is very excited to begin his senior year in the ClemsonLIFE program at Clemson University this fall. After working hard in the two-year ClemsonLIFE program, he was proud to be admitted into the Advanced Program, begin living by himself and start showing new students around campus. He plays basketball with Special Olympics and the ClemsonLIFE intramural team, and is proud to be called “Beast” by his teammates. He works at a local hotel, lives independently off campus, and enjoys accompanying his father, who is a Boy Scouts scoutmaster, to speak with both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts troops about living with a disability.
Dalton’s mentors describe him as kind and compassionate, and someone who “brings joy to everyone he interacts with.” His favorite class at Clemson so far was his salsa dancing class, in which he was the only male student. For other students with Down syndrome, Dalton has this advice: “Have a lot of fun and meet as many people as you can, and practice doing laundry too.” We think that’s great advice – and we are so proud of you, Dalton! Keep on rockin’ it all the way to graduation!
