Abigail Maddux – Northeastern State University RiverHawks Program (Sailor Tracey Scholarship Award)

Abigail is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Sailor Tracey Scholarship Award recipient. She will attend the RiverHawks program at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma this fall, where she plans to work toward her goal of becoming an actress. In the meantime, she is excited to begin her summer job working in admissions at her local water park – a job she applied, interviewed and was hired for independently.

In high school, Abigail was active in musical theater, choir and Girl Scouts, as well as serving on her school’s student council all four years. She was included in all general-education classes in high school, earning a high GPA and ultimately graduating with a diploma. She is an active self-advocate, frequently speaking on the topics of having Down syndrome and self-determination for people with disabilities. We think you rock, Abigail!
