2019

Rebekah Seipel is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Mila Morrow Scholarship Award recipient and will be attending the University of Missouri in Kansas City this fall as a student in the Propel program. She can’t wait to be a UMKC Roo! In high school, she was in the marching band and the flag corps for four years. She loves performing as well as watching sports on TV and attending live games. This summer, she worked a camp counselor at 4-H Camp and showed sheep and pigs at county and state fairs. She also attended the Missouri Youth Leadership Forum hosted by the the Missouri Governor’s Council on Disability in July. She was selected to join the Kansas City Royals KCrew cheerleading group at a Royals baseball game on September 1, an opportunity provided by the Kansas City Down Syndrome Guild and the Kansas City Royals.

Rebekah plans to work in a field like hospitality, housekeeping or counseling someday, so she can help others. She loves children and would also enjoy working in a daycare. Until then, she will be working on her independent living skills in college. We think you rock, Rebekah!
