Phoebe Kochis – Cook Street School of Culinary Arts (Sully Drake Family and Friends Scholarship Award)
2019
Phoebe Kochis is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Sully Drake Family and Friends Scholarship Award recipient, and she will be attending the Cook Street School of Culinary Arts this fall. She has been dancing for 16 years, and in summer 2019, she was a contestant on the hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance. While the judges did not advance her to the next round, they did give her performance a standing ovation, and judge and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe invited her to be a special guest at the show’s Academy Week. Phoebe was also named the first Colorado Miss Amazing in 2017; she has given over 70 speeches all over the country encouraging others with disabilities to “Reach For The Stars,” which has become her tagline.
Phoebe works at a retail clothing store and is excited to attend culinary school. She also plans to audition again on So You Think You Can Dance in the future. She would love to have her own cooking show on TV. Keep on rockin’ it in culinary school, Phoebe!
