Dylan Kuehl – The Evergreen State College (Greg Cummings Scholarship Award)
2016
Through a lot of hard work and self-advocating, Dylan has become the first person with Down syndrome to attend The Evergreen State College and is officially the first person in Washington State with Down syndrome to attend a 4-year college. Dylan has begun his dream of attending TESC, has earned college credit and continues to work toward becoming a full-time student.
Dylan started his own visual and preforming arts company in 2005 , DK ARTS (www.dylankarts.com ), where he sells his own artwork and fused glass jewelry and well as public and motivational speaking. He loves music and hopes to make a kids album one day, but until then he plays the drums in the band “Living the Dream”, whose mission is to bring inclusion into the world through music.
Dylan says, “When I am faced with a challenge in life I look for ways to overcome it and find a path to reach my dreams.”
