Abby is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Clurman Family Scholarship Award. This fall, she begins her second year in the SUCCEED program at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Being in college marks the realization of a lifelong dream—Abby always wanted to attend college like her older siblings, and was especially excited to live in the dorms.
Abby is naturally hardworking and determined to be successful. In her program at UMSL, she has learned to manage her schedule, maneuver campus, meet deadlines, make new friends and most importantly, advocate for herself. She loves to sing, watch movies and go bowling. She volunteers at the library and works out weekly. Her future goals include finishing college, getting a job, saving money and moving into her own apartment.
