Virginia is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Maudie’s Scholarship Award. She is very excited to begin attending Syracuse University’s InclusiveU program this fall, where she plans to take courses in American Sign Language and to continue her love of writing, especially screenplays. She is also looking forward to making new friends in college.
Virginia enjoys athletic pursuits like hiking—she once hiked the Appalachian Trail with family, from Maine all the way to Georgia—as well as skiing and gymnastics. She has competed in both skiing and gymnastics in the Special Olympics, and won bronze, silver and gold medals for gymnastics in the USA Games. She loves reading, acting and filmmaking, and she hopes to have a career someday as a writer or film director. Virginia, we think you rock—we are so proud of you and all that you’ve already accomplished!
