Katie is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Ayala Scholarship Award recipient. She will be attending the InclusiveU program at Syracuse University, and she hopes to work in a medical clinic someday. In high school, she was in the National Honor Society in sophomore through senior years. She was a student council representative and was active in her school’s American Sign Language Club as well as the school choir and percussion groups. She was also on the swim team for four years and the bowling team for one, and participated in Unified basketball and soccer. She was a member of the homecoming court her senior year, and graduated with a 3.44 cumulative GPA.
Katie describes herself as a hard worker with a good attitude, an assessment echoed by her teachers and mentors. We are so proud of you, Katie! We know you’ll rock it at Syracuse!
