Colton is a three-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Maci Rae Carter Scholarship Award recipient. He attends Duquesne University, where he is active in Best Buddies and the campus swim club. He says, “My passion and what I love most is the theater.” He even has a season subscription with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust so he can see lots of live theater. He also joined the campus theater group, the Red Masquers, so he can learn more about theater life.
As a spokesperson with the Special Olympics, Colton had the honor of escorting the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback onto the field before a game. His favorite class this past year was a public speaking class. The speech he most enjoyed giving was a persuasive speech to convince his audience to choose live performances over going to the movies. Colton also regularly visits lawmakers to speak with them about issues affecting college students and adults with disabilities. We think you rock, Colton – we are so proud of you!
