Michael Tracy is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow PCSI Scholarship Award recipient and will begin his sophomore year at the University of Louisiana–Lafayette this fall. He recently auditioned to play trumpet with the Pride of Acadiana — the UL marching band — and was accepted! He is looking forward to being a part of the Ragin’ Cajun Marching Band. In high school, he served as assistant conductor, drum major and then drum major on the center podium for his high school band, and received the Patrick S. Gilmore Band Award. He has served as an altar server at his church and is active in the UL campus ministry. He has also been active in Special Olympics. Along with his college courses, he works busing tables at a local oyster restaurant.
Michael loves playing and watching baseball, dancing and traveling, and serving as band conductor. He hopes to live independently someday and to work in healthcare so he can work at a military hospital and help cheer up veterans. We think you rock, Michael!
