Strong self-advocates

“I have a chocolate brownie in my lunch today and I am about to eat my own arm off…could you wrap this meeting up Ruby?”
Through self-love and self-learning, a lot of our Ruby’s Rainbow scholarship recipients become very strong self-advocates, which can lead them to other opportunities. Having their voices heard in boardrooms, at their places of employment, in schools and so many other places is so powerful, not only for others with disabilities, but for the rest of the world. It’s these voices that are changing perceptions and helping others see the value, worth and overall awesomeness that can come with different learning abilities. It’s these voices that are speaking for so many others who cannot speak for themselves, and showing the world that it’s ok to be different. In fact, it’s more than ok…it’s pretty darn amazing!
